The director from TechRadium’s Homeland Security Programs Division arrived on Friday, July 29th, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to oversee the use of CommandCore during the 2011 Brickyard 400. In preparation for race day on Sunday, many events will be widely attended throughout the weekend – from Chevy Day and practice races on Friday, to qualifying and the 1st Annual Brickfest on Saturday!
An event that frequently sees crowds of well over 100,000 people, CommandCore will be used to ensure the ultimate fan experience for this year’s race. The use of this dashboard in the operations center will provide security personnel with real-time updates regarding incidents that are in-progress or about to occur. Providing the ability to generate and manage incidents from virtually anywhere, use of the CommandCore app throughout the weekend will allow for more efficient incident reporting by personnel in the field. These officers will be able to use the app to receive assignments based on their location, generate incidents and review reports, all contributing to a safer environment for the event attendees.
Additionally, TechRadium’s Immediate Response Information System, IRIS, will also be leveraged at the Brickyard 400. This mass notification service will be instrumental in increasing communication capabilities between public safety personnel.
A system with a variety of capabilities, CommandCore provides public safety officials with a common operating picture (COP) that presents information from multiple types of systems, such as computer-aided dispatch (CAD) data. The City of Indianapolis is currently in the middle of the multi-phased implementation process of this robust emergency management solution. The COP was used during the recent Black Expo Celebration and Indianapolis 500 racing event, and will be leveraged at Super Bowl 46, also being hosted by Indianapolis.
This increase in security is the result of a partnership between TechRadium and the Indianapolis Department of Homeland Security, in an effort to make Indianapolis a safer city. This common operating picture supports the Department and City’s goal by providing a platform that streamlines emergency response through access to essential information in real time and by promoting collaboration between multiple agencies.
